The current Slipway or as we generally call it RAMP (left in the picture above)
is of railway sleepers, steel and concrete construction, it does need maintenance
from time to time, mostly when there has been a succession of easterly gales
the shingle builds up and it becomes very difficult to launch.
We have a special vehicle that is a modified dumper to keep the shingle clear,
this task is usually looked after by a band of volunteers, particularly when
the boating is good.

The gates to the entrance of the ramp are always locked after use, this prevents unuthorised use by undesirable members of the public.
For those members wishing to use the the ramp at night we will be fitting flood lights at the top by the gates, an added bonus for those late afternoon Cod fishing sessions in the winter.
